Building Your Dream Home

Think building your own home has to be a stressful process? Think again! With Amwood Homes, and by working with us, your local builder, your needs and desires come first. Every step of the way, our sales professionals will work with you to make sure that your home is everything you want it to be. In cooperation with our expert designers, skilled production employees, and construction crews, our sales associates will guide you through the building process. "Your home is your best investment," says CEO Doug Scott. "We are here to make sure that it's one you can enjoy for years and years to come."

From start to finish, Amwood Homes, in partnership with your local builder, works for you. Ready to get started? Here's how!

  1. Meet your local Amwood home builder
Amwood Homes works with over a hundred builders in eight Midwestern states. By partnering with local builders, we are able to offer our clients superior service and quality craftsmanship. Complete the information request form on this website or give us a call at the phone number found on this website. We will be in touch shortly to learn more about what you have in mind for your new home.

  2. Choose a home site
While many Amwood Home builders have sites for sale, they will also build on one that you already have.  Keep in mind that the site specifications will influence your home plan selection, too.  Your Amwood builder can work with you to choose one that best fits your needs.

  3. Select a floor plan
Amwood Homes offers over 250 floor plans, but each and every one can be customized. View sample floor plans found on this website, or give us a call to set up a one-on-one meeting to find out more.

  4. Research financing options
No down payment? Flexible financing? Fifteen or thirty year mortgage? There are multiple options in financing your new home and we can put you in touch with local lenders that can assist you.

  5. Have a pre-construction conference
Once you've secured financing, you'll submit your deposit and sign the construction agreement. At your pre-construction conference, your local Amwood builder will discuss the project timeline with you. At this meeting, you'll finalize your color selections, too.

  6. Begin construction of your dream home
Ready, set, go! While our crews are preparing your home site, the floor deck system, walls panels, and roof trusses are cut and assembled in one of our three manufacturing facilities. This saves you time (typically, the building process is cut by four weeks) and money (less wasted materials).

  7. Go through the final inspection and closing
Prior to closing, your local Amwood builder will accompany you on a final walk through of your new home. At this time, they'll also complete any minor touch-ups that are needed. Once you've made the final payment, you're now the proud owner of an Amwood home.

  8. Move in!
With your new house keys in hand, it's read for you to move in! By choosing your floor plan, design colors, and personal touches, this house is truly yours. Home sweet home.

  9. Customer satisfaction guaranteed
Your relationship with Amwood and us, your local dealer, doesn't stop here. Our reputation for quality craftsmanship and personal service has been cultivated over 40 years in the business. For the first year, Amwood provides a service policy on all the parts of the home that we supplied. In addition, each home has a ten year structural warranty for your further protection. Make sure to ask your local Amwood builder about their materials warranty, too. Your satisfaction is our business - and we're always just a phone call away.
